The best advice really is to buy the biggest you can afford, keeping in mind the space you have available in your home. Plus always check the bar spaces, they must never be bigger than the birds head or he can push his head through and not be able to retrieve it and cause himself injury.

Don’t even look at small cages, your bird will simply be very unhappy in it, it would actually be cruel to put a cockatiel in a cage too small.

The only pet bird more popular than a cockatiel is a budgie. They are intelligent birds and even though they may be timid when you first get them they will respond to plenty of love and attention and will become quite tame.
